Hi, We’re Always Take the Kids!
We’re a family of five who has never been particularly good at sitting still.
We like to travel. A lot.
We like beautiful places, great food, and finding the little local spots that make a trip memorable. We also like nice things, but we are absolutely not paying $400 a night for a hotel room just because someone put a fancy robe on the bed. It’s just not in the budget.
Over the years, we’ve figured out that traveling with kids doesn’t have to mean waiting until they’re “old enough” or spending a small fortune to make it happen. Sometimes it takes some planning, a little flexibility, and occasionally looking at each other and saying, “Well…I guess we’re doing this.”
That’s what Always Take the Kids is all about.
Here you’ll find our real trips, real costs, favorite finds, things we loved, things we wouldn’t do again, and all the little things we wish someone had told us before we went.
We’re closer to backpackers than luxury travelers. We’re just trying to see as much of the world as we can while keeping our budget (mostly) intact.
And yes, the kids come with us. Even when they’re teenagers. Even when they would rather be on their phones. Even when someone is hungry.
Because someday, they won’t be kids anymore.
And until then?
Always take the kids.
Travel more. Spend less. Make the memories.
